Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. She's the daughter of the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is native to two languages. When she was just nine, Collins's ability to converse in two languages helped her get a job in Miami as an assistant producer at Univision. In this role, she had the opportunity to be a part of national show producers like Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Following this it was announced that the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent at KNVO TV 48 Univision. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas as well as Mexico. She was also frequently called upon to be a sports or weather anchor. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on more duties. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason as well as the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She has been promoted to anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She held the same position as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November in 1985. She also has a younger sibling. The family settled in Miami after moving to Mexico to the US. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother was remarried to a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. Her residence was in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime in which she was given the opportunity of a job. Antonietta, a high-school senior with an idea of what she wanted her future to be, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. It turned out that she loved the school and they were offering the degree she was searching for. When she finished high school, she made the decision to enroll at the university and major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. His passion for journalism and confidence in her own abilities encouraged her. She in turn attempted to live up to his standards and not disappoint him.
